World’s biggest millet broom

Cliff Wortes made the world’s largest handmade broom produced by natural fibres at the Factory in 1974.

1974 was a ‘freak’ year for broom millet length, with the millet fibre growing to 1.4 metres. Cliff had to sift through three tonnes of millet in order to select the longest fibres to make the broom.

The world’s biggest broom is 1.06 metres tall, and with the handle attached is taller than the average person.

  1. Hi there, great to see you still making millet brooms. I visited your business back in the 70’s when i was about 7yrs old and enjoyed being able to see you making the brooms close up. Keep making them.

  2. Just saw the Better Hones and Gardens Shi. Love you Bronx. Pretty sure you don’t have a stockist in Newcastle but do you have one in Sydney.
